The undersigned is directed to state that CGHS has empanelled private hospitals in various CGHS covered cities to provide inpatient healthcare facilities to its beneficiaries. Empanelment of the private hospitals is done under a contractual agreement between the Government of India and the private hospital on mutually agreed terms and conditions.

Sub: Extension of CGHS facilities to permanently disabled dependent brother of a CGHS beneficiary - reg.
The undersigned is directed to state that dependent brother of a Central Government employee is presently entitled for CGHS coverage upto the age of becoming a major. Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has been receiving requests from CGHS beneficiaries for removal of the upper age-limit in the case of disabled dependent brother so as to provide them the CGHS facilities without any age limit as has been provided to disabled son of a CGHS beneficiary.

With reference to the above mentioned matter the undersigned is directed to state that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has been receiving requests from the Central Government employees and pensioners covered under CGHS / CS(MA) Rules, 1944 seeking approvals for Liver Transplantation surgery in respect of themselves and their eligible family members under CGHS / CS(MA) Rules. The Ministry has been examining these proposals on case to case basis for allowing the medical treatment to the beneficiaries on merits. In view of the increasing number of cases, the matter has been reviewed by this Ministry and it has now been decided to issue guidelines and ceiling rates for permission / reimbursement for Liver Transplant Surgery in respect of CGHS / CS (MA) beneficiaries as per the details mentioned below: -

Subject: - Regarding tests/investigations at private hospitals/diagnostic laboratories/imaging centres empanelled under CGHS.
The undersigned is directed to refer to the Office Memorandum of even no. dated 1st January, 2013 on the above subject and to further lay down the procedure for getting the diagnostic tests / investigations carried out at the CGHS empanelled private hospitals/diagnostic laboratories / imaging centres on a valid prescription issued by a CGHS Medical Officer / Government Specialist, without a referral / permission letter from the Department concerned or CMO-in-charge of CGHS Weliness Centre, as the case may be.
2. The CGHS empanelled private hospitals / diagnostic laboratories / imaging centres shall perform the investigations / diagnostic tests as prescribed by the CGHS Medical Officer / Government Specialist on cashless basis to the CGHS pensioner beneficiaries, ex-MPs, freedom fighters and other eligible categories of CGHS beneficiaries, who are presently eligible for credit facility, at CGHS approved rates, only in respect of the tests / investigations for which CGHS rates are available.

Subject:- New Timings for CGHS Wellness Centres
The undersigned is directed to state that with a view to improve the functioning of CGHS and ensure optimum utilization of available manpower resources, it has been decided to revise the timings of CGHS Wellness Centres from the present timings of 7.30 AM to 1.30 PM to the new timings of 9.00 AM to 4.00 PM.
2. The CGHS Wellness Centres in New Delhi which are currently functional for 24 hours, will continue to function as usual in shifts.
3. The diagnostic laboratories and yoga centres functioning in the CGHS Wellness Centres will open at 8.00 AM and close at 3.00 PM.

The undersigned is directed to convey the approval of the Union Cabinet for doubling the existing rate of payment of HPCA/PCA to all eligible Group ‘C’ & ‘D’ employees working in Hospitals, Dispensaries and Organisations w.e.f 1/9/2008.The amount of HPCA/PCA would be automatically raised by 25% every time the Dearness Allowance on the revised pay structure goes up by 50%. The undersigned is directed to refer to the various office memoranda issued by this office from time to time vide which private hospitals, diagnostic laboratories and imaging centres were empanelled under CGHS in Delhi & NCR and other CGHS covered cities from 7th October 2010 onwards which would be completing empanelment period of 2’ years before 31st March 2013 and to state that it has been decided to extend the validity of empanelment of such empanelled hospitals, diagnostic laboratories and imaging centers on the same terms and conditions under which they were empanelled, till 31st March 2013 or till next empanelment, whichever is earlier.

empanelment scheme for private hospitals and diagnostic centres was initiated under CGHS. RANCHI for providing medical treatment to CGHS beneficiaries. The CGHS rates applicable for the city have already been notified and are available on CGHS website. Three rates have been notified, one for super-specialty hospitals, the second for hospitals accredited with NABH and the third for hospitals not accredited with NABH.
