Sub: Declaration of Productivity Linked Bonus (P.L.B.) for the year 2012-2013.

Sir,
   The Central Government, under Section 5D(7) of the Employees' Provident Funds & Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 has conveyed its approval to the extension of the existing Productivity Linked Bonus Scheme 1998-2004 (Revised) for the year 2012-2013 vide their letter No A-26022/1/1994-SS.1 dated 07th October 2013.

The Cabinet Approved 78 days Productivity Linked Bonus for Railway Employees.

   The Union Cabinet today approved the proposal of the Ministry of Railways for payment of Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) equivalent to 78 days wages for the financial year 2012-13 for all eligible non-gazetted railway employees.

   PLB equivalent to 78 days wages will be paid as a special case considering the good financial performances which is expected to motivate employees. The Gross Traffic Receipt (GTR) during 2012-13 is Rs. 1.24 lakh crore showing an increase of 18.85 per cent against GTR of Rs. 1.04 crore during 2011-12. This increase of GTR was 10.13 per cent during 2011-12 as against 2010-11 and 8.71 per cent during 2010-11 as against 2009-10.

   The financial implication is estimated to be Rs. 1043.43 crore. The wage calculation ceiling prescribed for payment of PLB to eligible non-gazetted railway employees is Rs. 3500/- per month. The payment of PLB to eligible railway employees is made each year before the Dusshera / Puja holidays. About 12.37 lakh non-gazetted railway employees all over the country are likely to benefit.

   The Railway Board are aware that due to the continued initiatives of both the Federations involving all categories of employees, the efficiency of the Indian Railways has been improving from year to year. It is worth-mentioning that over three decades, not a single man day was lost and this has been possible due to the matured approach on the part of the two major railwaymen’s Federations.

MEMORANDUM

Sub: Productivity Linked Bonus for the employees of ESI Corporation - 2011-12 - sanction regarding.

   Ref: This Office OM of even NO. dated 17.10.2012.

   In continuation of this Office OM under reference, the approval of the Competent Authority is hereby communicated for the payment of Productivity Linked Bonus equal to 60 (Sixty) days’ wages to the employees of the Corporation for the year 2011-12 as worked out on the basis of the existing scheme of Productivity Linked Bonus.

Productivity Linked Bonus for Railway Employees.

Cabinet Decision

   The Union Cabinet today approved the proposal of the Ministry of Railways for payment of Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) equivalent to 75 days’ wages for the financial year 2008-2009 for all eligible non-gazetted Railway employees (excluding RPF/RPSF personnel).

        The salient features of the PLB scheme evolved as a result of review of the scheme and approval of the Cabinet on 23.09.2000 and applied for making payment for the financial years 1998-99, 1999-2000, 2000-01 and 2001-02 are as under :-

a)       The output for a year is reckoned by the  equated net  tonne kilometres by adding together:-

(i)      Total goods revenue net tonne kilometres.

(ii)     Non-suburban passenger kilometres converted by a factor of 0.076.

(iii)    Suburban passenger kilometres converted by a factor of 0.053.
