SUB: Opening of Kendriya Vidyalayas under the sponsorship of Ministry of Railways — Charging of Licence fee/lease rent - regarding.

Sir/Madam,

   Pursuant to the decision of the Board of Governors, KVS taken in its 91st meeting held on 19.01.2012, the matter pertaining to charging of different licence fee/lease rent by various authorities of Ministry of Railways for different KVs under Railway, for the land to be transferred free of cost in favour of KVS for the construction of permanent Vidyalaya building, was taken up with the Ministry of Railways through Ministry of HRD.

   Now the Ministry of Railways vide their Office Memorandum No.E (W) 2010/SC-2/9 dated 12.08.2013 has conveyed the decision of Railway Board that Railway land for opening of Kendriya Vidyalayas shall be licensed / leased to KVS @ Re.1/- per annum in parity with other departmerts of Govt. of India. A copy of Railway Board’s aforesaid letter alongwith their letter No.2013/LML/21/17 dated 05.08.2013 is enclosed for your reference of record.

   This may be circulated among all Kendriya Vidyalayas functioning under your administrative jurisdiction. Necessary action be taken from time to time.
