Increase in rate of pension from Rs. 200/- to Rs. 300/- per month under the ongoing Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme and Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme.

   Increase in rate of pension from Rs. 200/- to Rs. 300/- per month under the ongoing Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme and Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme as well as increase in grant from Rs. 10,000/- to Rs.20,000/- under the National Family Benefit Scheme

   The Union Cabinet today revised the norms and enhanced rates of pension for widows and persons with disabilities.

   This is in fulfillment of the announcement made by the Finance Minister while presenting the Union Budget 2012-13 in the Parliament on 16th March 2012.

   In view of the above decision, 76 lakh Below Poverty Line (BPL) widows and 11 lakh below poverty line persons with severe or multiple disability would get enhanced amount of central assistance @ Rs. 300 p.m. This would be in addition to the contribution by the States. Further, 3.56 lakh BPL families will receive one time lump sum enhanced grant @ Rs. 20000/- in the event of death of the primary breadwinner in the family.

   The  Official  Pay  Committee-2011 constituted in  Government  Order  dated: 15.06.2011 read at  (1)  above had recommended revision of  pay scales of  the State Government employees with  effect from  lst  April  2012 and the revised pay structure recommended  by the Committee related to index level of 191.5 points in AIACPI (IW) 2001 series (Base 2001=100) by merger of  Dearness Allowance of  76.75% admissible on  1st January 2012. The Committee had also recommended  to sanction Dearness Allowance to State Government employees  with effect from lst July 2012 in the Revised Scale 2012 at the rate of 0.604% for every l% Dearness Allowance sanctioned  by the Government of India to its employees with effect from 01.07.2012. Accordingly orders have been issued in G.O. dated: 21.04.2012  read at  (2) above.

Sub:- Grant of Privilege Passes/PTOs to dependent relatives — raising the income ceiling limit.

   Pursuant to 6th Pay Commission recommendations, Board vide letter No. E(W)97/PS 5-1/71 dated 31-8-2009 have issued instructions raising the income ceiling for grant of Privilege Passes/PTOs to dependent relatives of railway servants indicating that a dependent relative in reletion to a railway servant as defined in Para-2(C) of the Railway Servants (Pass) Rules, 1986 (Second Edition, 1993) shall be considered eligible for entitlement of Passes/PTOs if his/her income does not exceed minimum Pension/family pension i.e.` 3500/- and Dearness Relief thereon or 15% of the basic pay of the Railway servant, whichever is more.
